The iconic orange design, form factor, and security it provides make the Rugged one of our most popular hard drives. The Rugged Mini is a small-format rugged, with countless new features - a solid investment for transporting data.

Maximum reliability
The LaCie Rugged Mini Hard Disk shares many features with our popular Rugged Hard Disk, such as shock resistance and drop resistance. In addition, both hard drives are additionally provided with a rubber protection. However, the Rugged Mini offers another advantage: it is also rain and pressure resistant. Even if you drive over it with a 1-ton car, it still works! Small in size, the Rugged is ideal for on the go, and its rugged housing protects it from impact, pressure or impact.

The speed of USB 3.0
With the Rugged Mini you have the speed of USB 3.0 and full backward compatibility with USB 2.0, which means you can use it with just about any computer. USB 3.0 lets you transfer a 700 MB video file in less than 7 seconds. By comparison, this takes 25 seconds with USB 2.0. To increase the data transfer rate on your Mac, you can use the LaCie USB 3.0 driver for Mac® (up to 30% more power compared to FireWire 800).
