KINGSTON 32GB IronKey Vault Privacy 50, USB 3.2

Main Features

• FIPS 197 certified with XTS-AES 256-bit encryption
• Brute-force and BadUSB attack protection
• Multi-password option with complex/passphrase modes
• New passphrase mode
• Settings for dual write protection mode
• Local management of USB sticks for small and medium-sized businesses

The Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 series consists of high-quality USB sticks that offer enterprise-grade security with FIPS 197-certified AES 256-bit hardware encryption in XTS mode, including BadUSB protections using digitally signed firmware and against brute-force password attacks. The VP50 series is also TAA compliant. Because it is encrypted storage under the user's physical control, the VP50 series offers much better data protection than the Internet or cloud services.

Vault Privacy 50 supports multi-password option (admin, user, and one-time recovery) with complex or passphrase modes. This makes it easier to recover access to the data if one of the passwords is forgotten. Traditional complex mode allows passwords from 6 to 16 characters using 3 out of 4 character sets. The new passphrase mode allows a numeric PIN, a sentence, a word list or even text with a length of 10 to 64 characters.

The administrator can enable a user and one-time recovery password or reset the user password to recover data access. To facilitate password entry, the "eye" icon can be enabled so that the entered password is displayed, resulting in fewer typos and therefore fewer failed login attempts. Brute-force attack protection locks user or one-time recovery passwords after 10 consecutive invalid passwords entered and crypto-erases the USB stick after 10 consecutive incorrect entries.

To protect against potential malware on untrusted systems, both the administrator and the user can set up the read-only mode so that the drive is read-only. In addition, the integrated virtual keyboard protects passwords from keyloggers or screenloggers.

FIPS 197-certified and TAA-compliant, this VP50 Series USB key can be customized by organizations to integrate with standard endpoint management software with a Product ID (PID) and configured through Kingston's Customization Program to enable IT and cyber security requirements of the company are met.

Small and medium-sized businesses can use the admin role to manage their drives locally, e.g. For example, to configure or reset employee user or one-time recovery passwords, recover data access on locked drives, and comply with laws and regulations when forensics is required.
