The SSD 980 is Samsung's latest NVMe SSD with PCIe 3.0 interface. With a newly developed controller, the 980 achieves read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s, making it up to 6 times faster than a SATA SSD.
This makes it ideal for gamers and everyday users who want to upgrade from an HDD or SATA SSD to an NVMe SSD with an attractive price-performance ratio. The SSD 980 offers high potential NVMe performance with low power consumption. For consistently strong performance, users can also rely on a stable temperature level regulated by a nickel coating, heat spreader and Dynamic Thermal Guard technology.
The SSD 980 also supports Full Power Mode, allowing users to benefit from consistent high performance and low latency. This mode can be easily activated using the Samsung Magician 6.3 software, which will be available in March.
With up to 600 TBW and a 5-year limited manufacturer's warranty, the 980 also offers the usual high endurance and longevity.
