RS3617RPxs delivers amazing performance with 3,829 MB/s sequential throughput and 433,873 IOPS in a RAID 5 configuration with 10GbE link aggregation. Equipped with 8GB of DDR4 ECC RAM (expandable to 64GB), RS3617RPxs provides the data accuracy needed to handle valuable data and mission-critical tasks across all areas of large enterprises.

10GbE network capability

In addition to the four integrated Gigabit ports, RS3617RPxs is equipped with two PCIe 3.0 x8 slots that allow the installation of two 10GbE network interface cards (NIC), helping to maximise bandwidth and meet high performance requirements for data-intensive applications.

The RS3617xs is a seamless storage solution for virtualised environments, including VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V, and OpenStack Cinder. The certified integration of VMware vSphere 6 and VAAI in the RSRS3617RPxs allows certain storage operations to be offloaded and computing power to be optimised for unparalleled performance and efficiency in VMware environments.

As the central repository of a virtual environment, the RS3617RPxs allows a virtual machine to be migrated, enabling server-to-server movement without interrupting services. Support for Windows Offloaded Data Transfer (ODX) and Synology Extended LUN significantly improves efficiency when transferring large amounts of data and migrating. With OpenStack Cinder support, RS3617RPxs can be used as a block-based storage component for servers compatible with the Cinder API.

Protection through LUN backup, snapshot and cloning

The RS3617RPxs improves the user experience by moving and copying data in a virtualised environment with LUN snapshot, LUN cloning and replication capabilities. Synology LUN cloning and LUN snapshot occupy only 1/1000 of the original size, greatly optimizing storage utilization.

Synology LUN Snapshot also allows you to take up to 256 snapshots per LUN using point-in-time technology without compromising system performance. With better support for servers in VMware vSphere or Windows environments, IT managers can expect guaranteed VM status and data consistency through application-consistent snapshots
