With the Solo2.5G USB-C to 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (2.5GbE) Adapter, Sonnet adds a new, budget-friendly solution to its comprehensive line of wired Ethernet network adapters. Thanks to NBASE-T (Multigigabit) Ethernet technology, computers and iPads can be connected to 2.5GbE and Gigabit (GbE) networks with the Solo2.5G adapter. This enables super-fast data transfers over the Ethernet network cabling infrastructure already in place in most buildings - so new investments are usually not required.

How it works
The Solo2.5G is 1.2 inches wide, 2.8 inches long and 0.6 inches high. The compact, fanless 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet adapter is suitable for Mac, Windows and Linux computers as well as Chromebooks and iPads. The handy device is equipped with an RJ45 connector and connection and activity LED indicators. It supports 2.5GbE (also known as 2.5GBASE-T) connectivity over common copper cables (cable standard Cat 5e and above) over distances up to 100 metres. The adapter's 0.3 metre captive USB-C cable connects to a USB-C or Thunderbolt (Type-C) port on the computer or tablet. Bus Power ensures energy-efficient and convenient handling.

The advantages of the solution
The Sonnet Solo2.5G uses NBASE-T technology. Therefore, users get a simple and cost-effective solution for faster network connections of their computer or iPad with USB-C and Thunderbolt (Type-C) interface.

When used with a 2.5Gb Ethernet-enabled switch, a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device or a WiFi router, the speed can be increased by 250 percent compared to Gigabit Ethernet. The big advantage: companies do not have to invest in new cabling for this, but can use the existing infrastructure with the adapter and thus save costs. If required, Solo2.5G also supports a connection speed of 1 Gb/s.
